I’m sure you already know that an amazing life doesn’t just happen by chance. It requires awareness, consistent effort, and the ability to enjoy what it is while working towards what you want. Achieving your goals.
If you are someone who is feeling stuck and struggling on your journey, try these eight simple habits and you won’t just get more done, it might actually change your life.
I am a strong believer in The Word of God and if you read His Word it will help give you direction to achieve your Goals and Purpose in this life we are living in now.
Before you start, you need to get your mindset right. So, start this journey with a coach that will help you to achieve the goals that you have set out for yourself. It is like preparing for a race. You don’t just go out and start running the marathon. No, you start preparing yourself by getting fit and in shape, not just physically but also mentally and spiritually. The same goes for setting goals and everything that you want to achieve in living out your life’s purpose. You need to always stay positive. It does get difficult to stay focused and you will need a coach from time to time to help you stay focused and get back on track.
I hope these steps will help you stay the course. Enjoy reading it and think about how you can put these steps into action in your life.
1. Visualize Your Success
Recognize your greatest goals and the successes that you want to achieve in work and in your personal life. See them, feel them, and imagine how wonderful it will be when you reach the goals that you have set for yourself. Visualize how you will look and feel. Maybe a new way of dressing up for work or for yourself, driving that new car you’ve been dreaming of. Can you see yourself doing that, living life to the fullest? Get there by engaging a coach that will walk the journey with you to achieve your goals.
2. Focus on One Task at a Time
Pray each morning asking God to help you focus on the things that are important for you. It is also important for the Lord that you achieve your purpose and the goals you have set out for yourself. Each morning when you wake up think about that list you made for yourself and start doing one thing at a time that will make you look forward to the day ahead and don’t let interruptions bog you down. It’s easy to allow new problems to distract you from wrapping up old ones. Understand the difference between what’s important and urgent and prioritize accordingly. Set deadlines for yourself—and keep them. Stick to them!
3. Get Active
Don’t be a prisoner of your desk, office, or workspace. Get outside in the morning, during breaks, or in the afternoon, and take a quick walk or go to the gym to get yourself moving. Let your mind wander as you enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Take time to listen to the birds and look at the way they are building their nests. (That just brings a smile to my face.) Just 10 minutes a few times a day can make a world of difference in your productivity. You should do something active to clear your mind each day. Give yourself a break as well. Be balanced in everything you do. Don’t overwork yourself. Breath and take one step at a time. Very important!
4. Don’t Be Afraid to Say No
It’s hard to say no when faced with a new project or opportunity, but the most effective people know that they can’t do everything—especially not all at once. If you aren’t sure that you can take something on, say no. I always remind myself that I must trade pain so I can draw pleasure later. That means to say no to something or to give something up now so that you will gain pleasure later. At the end of the day, you will be so proud of yourself and happy about what you see your life becoming.
5. Value Your Time
Spend your time wisely and do your best to avoid the distractions that you can control while focusing on the one thing that you need to do. Try to live a balanced life. Don’t allow people to monopolize your time on topics or issues that don’t add to the goals of your organization, your team, or yourself. Time is a gift and how you spend it will make the world of difference to your day. There is a time for everything a time to laugh and a time to cry a time to love and a time to give. It is up to you and how you spend your time. So, value it accordingly.
6. When You Need Help, Ask for It
Our egos sometimes get in the way of asking for help, but to avoid asking for help when we need it is a big mistake. Sometimes it only takes a fresh viewpoint to figure out a solution that seemed impossible. Ask for help by seeking advice from people whose opinions and values are aligned with yours and those of the goals you have set out for yourself. It helps to hear what some else is saying. They may see it in a different way and help you by providing a different point of view. It will help to see if you are on the right track. It is not for being perfect in the doing but for making change where needed to get to that goal.
7. Be a Good Listener
Good listening skills are vital. Be open to the advice of others. But at the end of the day, it is up to you what you want. What is it that is going to work for you and what is not going to work for you? It is almost like cleaning up your cupboard. Avoid misunderstandings and miscommunications that create needless work. If you’re talking more than you’re listening, you’ve got a problem.
8. Be Grateful
Appreciate what you have and look after it and love the people you have in your life. Time is short in this life. We need to appreciate each other. Enjoy the opportunities you have been given. When you’re satisfied with your job and your life, you’ll find that work gets accomplished more quickly. Take time each day to be thankful for what you have and where you are on your journey. But don’t get complacent. Continue to seek knowledge and grow so you’ll always be ready for something new and challenging.
Enjoy!
A Prayer to Renew your mind: Help m, Lord, to always be steadfast under trial and to persevere when tempted, for when I have passed the test and been approved, I will receive the victor’s crown of life which You have promised to those who love You. (James 1v12)
